That was a smile-inducing read. And enlightening; I didn't know about the de-violencification of Popeye. "I yam what they tells me to be."
I never thought of margin as a four letter word, but it is strangely fitting. Reminds me a bit of the villain in the movie Johnny Dangerously, who kept using 'fargin' in lieu of the usual f-bomb.

I can't say I ever noticed the watering down of the Popeye cartoons growing up, but all the reruns could have only shown the good ones. Can't say I needed his influence to enjoy the dreaded vegetable though, already loved the stuff at the point.
So too, I must admit, I was not aware 'margin' was so versatile a word, let alone its use as an insult or a curse. The more you know. *laughs and smiles*
