The Mink first appeared as a semi-villainess in a Savage Squirrel story, but quickly spun off into her own series.
Ergo, allow me to present a spin-off from the Herman Orca saga: Former Military Police, and now Federal Marshal Philomenon Baskerville Reacher (and his jolly side-kick, Lester), in a guns-and-guts potboiler. If tough guys running gauntlets of goons are your meat, then this tale is for you!

They have achieved it, but not on a commercial scale yet. And the vegans are still going ape shit about it because it "could have been life", even though its not even a complete genetic sequence aka.. its never been alive, nor dead, its just reconstituted matter

Sort of. It does involve harvested stem cells, however, they don't have any fat protein strands in them and as such, are totally flavourless when cooked. And missing vital mitochondrial elements that would allow it to support life

Most of the ones I have heard of involve stem cells from fetus's taken from slaughter house. Not useful without the slaughter house. I heard that someone beat that with chicken, don't know details.

Can't pay any attention to opinion of idiots. They aren't going to buy it anyway.

The original samples, yes, were from the slaughter house, but, the latest ones have been made using gene editing from the products of those original samples. So its like saying that you are related to a murderer because you are human. Its so many generations down the line now that its only a mile of paperwork that actually distinguishes it as meant

That would be good. Kind of like the immortal cell line they invented to make vaccines. There was a fetus, or a sick woman - somewhere in it's past, but it's been a while. It sounded like they would need a steady supply. Good that that is not true.

Next trick - make it solid, and not a soup.

Clarification - the cell line used to make vaccines was HeLa, Henrietta Lacks, a woman with a particularly virulent cancer. Probably not directly useful for artificial meat, but some of the genes might be instructive.

This sounds like crossover from Doc Rat, where they have a world where almost everything is sentient, but chickens are stupid enough that nobody - except maybe the chickens - objects to eating them.

The catch is capitalism. Sure, they can. But is it gonna be cheaper than just sticking a cow in a field and letting it graze? Unless they also manage to reduce the costs to something close enough to the actual meat then it won't take off beyond a niche market. If it's even 30% more per pound in the market place people are gonna probably stick with what they know and is cheaper.

But now they stick the cow in a pen, and feed it stuff they don't really like. I hear that in some feedlots, 70% of the livers are not edible. The cows are on the verge of death. Not sure why this is cheaper. Time I suppose.
