Different Angle with a view of one of the seven fireplaces this house has. There are also 5 doors into this house...this side door comes into the parlour while the front door goes into the reception area..Not sure why the door is there exactly.

No, I dont believe this house was used for business but maybe? Mr Hildebrant was vice president of a bank by the time he lived in this house. He had it built as a present for his wife and got into a bit of a contest with another local which added to the elabrateness of the estate:)
Could be there was customers that dropped by he preferred to impress by greeting in the formal parlor rather than in entryway. Of course in some areas more doors would statement in and of themselves as home were taxed per door Its the reason older homes in New Orleans have windows that open big enough to walk through easily they weren't taxed
