Created this drawing for the "Transformation" theme of Apto April. I'm a big tanuki fan, and having previously thought of various merits to being a shape-shifting yokai, I decided to work on the flipside-- using a baseline of "tfw your parents start cheering for you louder than anyone else in the event," and taking it to a new level.
It was really hard drawing the particular 3D shape of the small shogi pieces, and I ought to have used another game, but I really wanted to go for the stealth Uchoten-Kazoku reference.
