The Dark Earth, also known in the ancient tongue as Dhéǵhōm, is the vast inter-continental underground world where the rat-like Rattōz and other beings live. In the darkness of this world, massive wars are fought between the Rattōz clans on an unimaginable scale where hundreds of thousands fight and die everyday in the pitch blackness of this realm.
It was in these wars beneath the earth that Skahildr earned her title as warlord in the bloody battles against her enemies.
