Headcanon: King Cold had a partner when he was young and that partner is Cooler's other parent. It would explain, in my opinion, why Cold treats him so differently than Frieza. I believe King Cold had Frieza by himself.

In my AU, Fross is Cooler's father. Obviously, he is deceased. He supposedly 'betrayed' Cold and his clan so Cold killed him, this all happened when he was carrying Cooler. Since the moment he was born, he was seen as lesser than the rest of the clan. and it's all because Cold can't look at him without seeing his father Fross."
