Spyro - Extra Prop Designs
I've decided to tackle the first Spyro game ever made and reinterpret it as if it were going to have a modern day "live action" (read: hyperrealistically animated) film adaptation. We can all sleep easy knowing this will never happen, right? Right?
These two prop designs are ones I liked enough not to throw away, but that I didn't have time to complete within a reasonable window of time. I was able to create a 3D model and slap some color onto the dragon statue, but I didn't even have time to color the hot air balloon. Now's a great time for you to use your imagination, maybe bust out some Crayola and go to town. I won't be upset.
I was determined to go totally different directions with these two: I wanted all dragon statues to look exactly the same and all hot air balloons to look completely different. When I first played Spyro 1, I was confused as to why all of the dragon statues looked identical given the dragons inside were (mostly) different from each other. I was also confused as to why the statues where on all fours when all the grown-up dragons were shown to be bipedal. Now I just consider it an affect of the magic, and, if I want to add meaning where there isn't any, a means of stripping each individual dragon of his identity, making them all a homogeny of crystal art. Balloons? Well, the balloons woulda just been balloons lol.
And thus concludes alla the shit I made based on a 20+ year old game. I hope yous guys enjoyed it! And maybe next time I'll know better then to spam this stuff all in one day.
