Spyro - Blowhard Character Design
I've decided to tackle the first Spyro game ever made and reinterpret it as if it were going to have a modern day "live action" (read: hyperrealistically animated) film adaptation. We can all sleep easy knowing this will never happen, right? Right?
Blowhard is my least favorite boss, I admit. I'm not really sure how many people would disagree with me. He's not just shitstupid easy to beat, he's also just. Kinda whatever in terms of design. Oh nooo, a tornado with arms and a hat, whatever shall I do? The concept of a sentient tornado/whirlwind being a villain is an interesting one, but I'm not in the business of concepts. oh wait
My goal with this dude was to overhaul him to the extreme, to make him recognizable and not dissimilar to his canon designs but to give those designs a bit more oomph. His core component, both in terms of design and anatomy, is a force of nature, so why not lean into nature to design the rest of him? The only part of his design that I made just for the hell of it was his heterochromia because, like, why not?
