Spyro - Eggs Prop Design
I've decided to tackle the first Spyro game ever made and reinterpret it as if it were going to have a modern day "live action" (read: hyperrealistically animated) film adaptation. We can all sleep easy knowing this will never happen, right? Right?
I think the dragon eggs in the Spyro series are neat. I like the spotted pattern on each of them, I like that their size suggests that even newborn dragons are pretty big, I like how I feel when I secure one. I also like to imagine that at least some of the ones we secure in the first game hatch in the third.
I obviously took inspiration from the promotional purple egg several people were sent for Reignited's release here and gave the eggs "scales". I couldn't bring myself to make a dragon egg look just like any other egg but with a couple of spots here and there. Likewise, they come in different shapes now. Did you know some birds lay eggs shaped like lightbulbs?
