You take gritty reality and turn it in to such amazing abstractions; aesthetically pleasing, yet anything but glamorous. There's no idealism here, and that's what makes the surrealism so impressive and powerful. Although I'm probably repeating what I've already said, hah. Your art is just really its own species.

Oh, thank you very much, but don't compare yourself to me. As you stated, you do your own thing, and you're damn good at it. You asked - why bother if you're not making your own thing? Well, it's not easy to make and follow your own path, so doing that is impressive on its own. Most people prefer to create art that's following someone else's path, I think. That's fine, but not nearly as interesting. So yeah, don't undervalue yourself by saying you rely on "cheap symbols" - being able to utilise symbols is a valuable skill.
