Hi again, yep, I'm still posting- Well, I've accumulated quite a lot over the, er- month I've been "away".
I'm gonna post a lot of that real soon.
Firstly I sort of thought it might be nice to post some of the practice drawings and things I did before I finalized the Nostalgic series. This is Calex's obviously. I always collect references if available when I need them for characters. That's Calex's avatar down there- Er... Flipped rightside up... But you can see that. *hack*
So the colorified Calex on the right is the one I wound up using for the most part.
This might go to scraps later...

Koopus..... Did I ever tell you just how awesome you are?
I look so cute in this. <3 <3
And
I FOUND A BUTTERFLY!
Yay! Yay butterfly! Cal lovers his butterflies, one of the reason he hangs out in fields of flowers so much. Always amazed how they flutter about and more than a few times dreaming about what it might be like to ride on their back and fly with them.
He was a bit off guard when he wound up rapidly shrinking down, and while he didn't see who did the deed he had an idea. A moment later the butterfly that had rested on his nose now towered before him. A sane person might have taken the chance to question why this happened, maybe freak out and search for a way to reverse it.
Cal just saw this as a chance to act out a dream.
Um sorry if that was uncalled for... ^.^; Just thought I might give the narrative thing a little try. 'tis fun!

I'm going to start right off and say this is just downright adorable...but I think I may have mentioned that I've been an old softy around kittens, and you just got that wide eyed look down SO so well, Koopus.
With that said, I'm buzzing with excitement, eager to see what you have in store and doubly thank you for sharing with us. Things such as these little character works does add more to understanding how you work, especially with creating these cute little sketches and clips before working on the big picture. From the simple smiling Calex head on the top (who I swear looks like he's purring happily), to the much more detailed and expressive wide eye Calex (who I can just see meowing a "Helloo!"). Then of course there's the curious little Calex with a butterfly perched on the nose tip with an expression of "Wazzat?" with ears perking up, to the shrunken Calex (or gigantic butterfly) living the dream (with extreme gleefulness). All of them are quite cute and I think befit Calex's personality and basic nature (as a feline with boundless energy and curiosity). Excellent work, even if there are just practice sketches *Thumbs way up*
