Is there anything that *isn't* improved by giant ominous discs?

I literally can't think of anything!

I don’t know about you guys, but I think a giant reflective disc orbiting around the Earth capable of incinerating entire countries (similar to how a child would use a magnifying glass to incinerate ants) would be absolutely terrifying. And sure, it might be nice to look at at first, but I think you would all be singing a different tune when you see an enormous beam of magnified sunlight heading your way.

So, yeah, I don’t think an enormous reflective disc would improve the Earth. I’m quite happy with the way it currently is.

P.S - For your information Spinopsys, disc-shaped objects do appear naturally. In fact, I’ve found many of them scattered across the beach.

Just imagine the religions that would have sprung up if some alien race just trolled us by putting a sunlight focusing mirror in orbit that had a propensity to burn everything on a small part of the earth's surface in a straight line when the positioning was right.

These shapes don't occur naturally, might add to the suspense
