as far as I understand it hon.. in truth, there was "supposedly" a few times in New York that the people didn't like the candidates and according to legend.. they all wrote in on their ballots "Mickey Mouse"..
if what I hear / tell is true.. he won the election for mayor not once, but TWICE..
( this was long before Disney got as huge and as powerful as they are now tho.. It "might" have even been when Walt was still alive.. )

In the 1970s in Texas I heard folks say they'd vote for Mickey Mouse if he was on the Democratic ticket... was pretty much a one party state at the time
