After cornering and dealing with Sailor Mercury, Majori retreated out of site, letting the commotion draw attention. Before long, Sailor Venus came to investigate the noise. Seeing a mouse with Mercury's hairstyle, she quickly deduced what happened. She reached down to pick up her friend, only realizing that Mercury's frantic flailing wasn't panic, it was a warning. Majori came out of the shadows and, with a zap from her wand, reduced Sailor Venus to a fluffy squirrel. Three down, two to go!
But the last two were Mars and Jupiter, the strongest fighters in the group. Could Majori keep holding her own against them? Only if she could isolate them. Even then, the hardest part of the fight was just around the corner . . .
I'm not entirely sure I'm sold on the lighting effects. I mean, they're fine in theory, but I don't know if I really put them where they should be. It seems right, as far as I can tell, but there's just that niggling goblin of doubt. I do like how dramatic the lighting makes it look, though, even if it may not be entirely spot on. And Oldi once again provided me with a great sketch to work with. He'd originally drawn Venus's expression with her eyes starting to look back towards Majori, but when I completed the color on them, which included making them look more like how they do in the show, they didn't quite work. I think, in the end, I like the effect more, because she looks way more caught off-guard, which is what I was going for. Happy little accidents.
