I started trying to have him made over five years ago.
The first builder just out right stole my money from me. She took me for $1,800.
The second builder accepted the commission then dropped off the face of the earth before I paid them anything. So I was just out time that I could have been having him built.
The third builder did exactly what I told her what I did not want. She even had written the contract her self and still could not follow instructions that she her self had typed out. After taking over two years she finally shipped me the suit with me never seeing any photos of it being built. I ended up sending everything but the head and feet back and refusing to pay her the full payment. The only thing acceptable was the head and I paid a lot of money for the boots that she made the feet out of.
The fourth builder actually came thought though she did take most of two years to finish everything but the head which was not part of the contract as I already had a head.
The fifth builder made me a new better head than the one that I had.
And here is the final finished fursuit Free Spirit.

Yeah I should not have had to do that but there is little to no professionalism within the furry fandom. What is even worse is that there is little in the way of professionalism in the muggle world either.
He is a royal pain in the butt to get into and out of and it's out right impossible to do so with out help. But damn does he look good!

Its always beneficial to do plenty of research on a maker beforehand and pay with a payment method that enables you to force a refund if nessisary. Not all "big makers" are best, but many of them are reputable and have a reputation they nust uphold as its their full time job. :) Hope this helps!

I have delt with many fursuit builders and a large number of them don't act as professional as they should. The worse affence is not respecting other people's time. They take a commission give a quote on how long it should take and then don't deliver on time. There are exceptions but they are few and far between. I have built my own fursuits and have some idea of how long it should take. Now the fursuits I have made are not up to the current fursuits that are built today as I mostly used over the counter patterns that is why I commission others to build my fursuits. But it should not take years.
Well also for having dang good vision.
But that's not the reasons that I like use your own eyes suits. I like use your own eyes suits so I can feel that I am the animal. If you can see the inside of the head that ruins the experience of being an animal. Seeing that muzzle or in this case the beak In front of my face that helps me feel that I am that animal.
