Basically the song is about a couple that were together a very long time but the boy ends up breaking up with the girl saying the relationship isnt going anywhere and he thinks they should be friends...so he sees her happy with other people and gets sad and decides to ask her back out because he finally realizes how mush he loves her and she says she thinks they are better as just friends. Sad no?
