RPG stuff: Mhar Grand Duchy of Dalmatia
One of the last regional maps I did with Greg (and still a little unfinished) was for the Grand Duchy of Dalmatia that was never finished because of... well reasons. It connects/overlaps with the eastern edge of the Averne map I already posted.
Dalmatia is one of dozens of semi-autonomous states that make up the Holy Empire, as is the County of Bellenland on the north-west side of the map. Bellenland is scattered with ruins of towns and fortifications having been the center of constant wars between powers dating back to the days of the Empire of Remanus. In addition to the human ruins of past and present, there are supposedly a number of underground gnomish settlements that were abandoned when the gnomes moved northwest to found their own land.
Dalmatia has a bit of a Eastern European feel in that the ruling class and many of the inhabitants are descended from plainsmen barbarians from the east that invaded and pillaged the Empire during the dark age collapse at the end. The area is important for iron (west) and salt mines (east) but infamous for ongoing problems with werewolves and ghouls (including vampires). The ghoul problem has particularly bad at various times many inns and homes have charms and many villages have stone watchtowers built next to their graveyards which are located outside the ditches and walls of their settlements. The book would have added several varieties of lesser ghouls as well as the dampyre (half-vampire) and wolf-blooded (half-pooka; that is shapechanger fey blood line be it wolf, boar, bear, badger, etc) as PC options.

I love these maps and all the lore you guys made for them. This one in particular is a great source of place names for a Warhammer campaign, and way more detailed than any of the official books for that system.
Is that a channel dug through Sabelburg? Quite interesting to see it go from basically one river's source to another.
