Okay, so... let me see if I understand the rules correctly.
The two contestants take turns spinning the wheel, which initially has one Hiss option and nine "safe spots", all of which are equally likely. If it lands on a safe spot, that spot is removed; if it lands on Hiss, the spinner gets a puff of air and all the safe spots return. First one to explode loses.
...I get the impression that you actually used a random number generator to write this story.
