A Dogbomb Inspired Gallery-Story post :3
See that little girl in the picture? She was the first child i had the chance to interact with in fursuit at the convention. Taken out side Con Operation, on a bench in the middle of the area. This image captures her impatience with the photographer for interupting her session, while I sit down to take a break and try to not sweat all the moisture out of my body. :>
She was a nice kid, very inquisitive but saw right through the costume to the person inside the fur. She kept asking/saying that my head could come off, and I kept denying it...
She would say "But your head does come off, right?" to which I would reply "No it doesn't... Does yours? :P "
She kept at this for a few minutes, trying her hardest to look in my mouth and get me to admit I was a fraud, at the same time admiring the strange creature in front of her who kept denying that there was no second head inside his Wolf-shaped head.
Finally, I said "My head does NOT come off. But maybe yours does! Here let me try!" And I proceeded to place my paws gently on her head, and give a quick gentle few tugs. "Nope, it won't come off!" She smiled and laughed a little, and continued to ask me animal related questions...
That was my first human-non-furry interaction, and it was awesome, the whole reason I came to AC, and decided to become a fursuiter. I now have a few very fond memories, and hope to make many many more as time goes on.
Is this why we fursuiters do it? Some do. Some want to be entertainers, performers, and show offs. But some, some suiters I do believe want nothing more than to be the real life embodiment of their fursonas, yet don't want the attention that comes with assuming the identity.
I am on both sides, but more so I just wanted to be the embodiment of the wolf inside me, and thanks to a few friends, I am. But I also want to be a performer. It was fun to play along with this little girl, even if she was a smart thing and saw through the costume. She however never did ask to tug on MY head, and I think it was part of her understanding. But, even if she did, my head would not have come off without a VERY good tug. It fits very snugly. :>

Oh, buddy that is awesome!
I'm so glad that you had a chance to experience
a little of the magic that comes with suiting.
Trust me, there is a lot more to come.
I love that fact that you cite me as inspiring this post,
but in truth it is you who inspire me.
I am honored to have met you
and glad that you are my favorite Wuffle.
I faved this twice.

Yes, I actually forgot about this moment until you showed me this picture! And Thank YOU very much for taking that image when you did, because it froze a very good moment in time at my first convention during my first suiting session. This was even before I had the red hair on my head or my glowing ear piece. ^^
Her name would be
ArtSlave and she is teh epic!
The entire suit I paid $1020 for, digitigrade padding included. I think her price is $1050 now, without padding it may be less...
