Audio Transcript: Interview #1 with Vincent [REDACTED] Codename: Freki
Interviewer: Agent [REDACTED]
Note: Interview takes place on [REDACTED] during incident US-NY-M#9-01.
Agent: Could you state your full name for the record?
Vincent: Sure, uh… it’s Vincent [REDACTED] Most people call me Vinny.
Agent: Okay Vinny, can you tell me when you first noticed Kiva’s growth?
Vincent: It was about four days ago. We woke up that morning and noticed she was hitting her head on the ceiling. She’s always been taller than most, considering, y’know? Um, but she never had trouble with the ceiling before then, just the doorframes.
Agent: So, you noticed she was taller, and you immediately suspected she was going macro?
Vincent: There were the clothes too. She wasn't fitting into any of them. An inch or two wouldn't do that, and adults don't just grow half a foot overnight. We called later to make sure, but we were pretty convinced the next day when she grew another foot.
Agent: Alright. So, you had a good reason to suspect. Let’s talk more about you. You grew up in [REDACTED] along with her. Went to the same school, right?
Vincent: That’s right.
Agent: Describe your relationship with her.
Vincent: Well, um, there’s not much to say. We’ve known each other since high school and we’ve always gotten along. I’m sure we’re like most couples because we still argue about stuff once in a while.
Agent: Has she ever hurt you?
Vincent: Wh- in what way?
Agent: Has she ever hurt you physically or emotionally? Do you feel safe around her?
Vincent: Of course I feel safe around her! I wouldn’t have married her if I didn’t.
Agent: Let’s discuss that. It says here you were married on [REDACTED] That’s a week after her father died. Care to explain?
Vincent: Her father didn't approve of me.
Agent: And why is that?
Vincent: I honestly don't know. At first, I thought he was racist and hated Humans. It's not uncommon. But lately, I think it was about strength for him. He saw this small little Human man trying to take his daughter away from him and he wouldn't have it. Or maybe he wanted her to continue the bloodline.
Agent: Dire Wolves aren’t endangered anymore. There are whole colonies of them in Asia now.
Vincent: Yeah, I know. But when has logic meant anything for people like that?
[Pause at 2:17]
Agent: Sorry about that. Now then, I was going through your records and I noticed some notes about scarring. Care to elaborate?
Vincent: [Indistinct mumbling]
Agent: I’m sorry?
Vincent: I said I’m not very comfortable talking about that. And since when are you guys allowed to just go through my medical history?
Agent: Please answer the question.
[Shuffling of clothing.]
Vincent: I know they look bad, but…
Agent: She gave you all of these?
Vincent: Yeah. But they were all accidental! She just gets a little excited when we’re, uh… y’know?
Agent: I see. Mr. [REDACTED] I’m sure you realize how dangerous a fully-grown macro is to a normal person. Are you willing to take responsibility for her?
Vincent: [Shuffling of clothing] I would be uncomfortable if anyone else took care of her. They don't know her like I do. She doesn't have anyone else. Neighbors? Sure. Friends? Just me.
Agent: You realize that being around her while she’s growing could be hazardous to your health?
Vincent: Being around her has always been hazardous to my health. Why should I stop now? She’s all I’ve got.
[End transcript]
Agent’s Note: Subject is skittish and guarded, but loyal. We’ll need a follow-up interview to determine if he can handle taking care of her. I recommend Agent [REDACTED] He has a big heart for these kinds of couples.
A series of sketches by
Bonimenteur of Vinny from my story "Dating a Direwolf."
In the initial design process, I jokingly described him as looking similar to Vinesauce's Vinny. Boni ran with it and combined him with French Youtuber "Dirty Biology" who I highly recommend you also check out.
