i went on a lot of vacations as a kid, and since i was in a family of 5 kids, the motel room was always loud and full of 3 or 4 of us at one time, so seeing this photo with the lamp still on gives me a liminal space vibe

Wow, now I get it! I didn't know about this concept, but now I understand that this background really fits well under the liminal space category. In fact, this background is made for a visual novel, so it will be obscured by the character and the interface. Hopefully, when finished, with all the elements together, this background will be more comfortable.
