Personality: Professional, bold, insightful. An excellent photo journalist by all rights, he's taken photographs in highly dangerous situations plenty of times. Danger is nothing new to him and he faces it with the daring required of someone who lives in a city where superheroes do battle and ancient mystical forces act semi-openly. He's more than willing to go into tight spots to get the perfect shots needed to document what goes on in Sable City, even having enough gumption to get photos with the resident protectors themselves. In all, he is well-suited to his role and has certainly found his niche.

Abilities:

Excellent Flier: Jason is one of the city's foremost fliers, having participated in and won several trophies for control, speed, and endurance. This allows him to safely take photographs from almost anywhere in the city, getting angles that normally couldn't be achieved by other journalists.

Martial Artist: As a photo journalist who regularly goes into dangerous situations, Jason has been required by his employers to learn self-defense for his own sake. To this end he has studied the Hilltop Monastery's variant of Shaolin Kung-Fu long enough to be proficient.

Magical Potential: Despite coming from an immigrant family that moved to Sable City just before he was born, Jason has an arcane potential that implies that the land has welcomed him and them more quickly than usual and given him the same level of power someone born to a long-lived family would possess. His area of focus lies with sensory enhancement techniques and minors in illusionry to assist him in his job and keep him from being noticed. Due to his childhood in the Ash District he also knows several charms and rites of warding off evil.

Minor Magical Talent: Living Gyroscope: Another factor to Jason's success, he's able to keep a solid sense of stability at all times. This in particular has kept him from suffering motion sickness and high winds throwing him off for the most part.

Profile: Having grown up in the Ash District, Jason Crier is all too familiar with the mystical side of Sable City. He wanted for the Things that haunted the streets and those who fought them to be more known, to get closer and reveal the truth of what happened in the city after dark for his own sake and that of the people who lived there. His family, however, disagreed. Being immigrants, they didn't want him to do something so dangerous, especially in a city like this. It didn't help that they're part of a dwindling species, and wanted him to take up something more mundane and safe.

But he had his way when he came of age, managing to get a scholarship to Advent City University where he studied journalism and photography, getting his degrees and coming home. There he took up a job as a field agent for the local radio station, taking pictures for their website to go alongside articles he sometimes was able to contribute to. It was when he managed to not only land a solid photo of the founding members of the Sable City Sentries, but also an interview with them that he was offered a job with the Sable City News Network.

He now works as one of their field correspondents, valued not only for his photography and integrity, but also on how willing he is to get shots of situations no one really gets to see of superheroic battles and his growing rapport with the Sentries. He has also been honing his magical talent thanks to the teaching of the otherwise reclusive millionaire Mayura, despite his odd methods and the vibes he gets off the wealthy peacock.

Weaknesses: His own mortality aside, Jason is prone to getting too comfy with danger to get what he deems "the perfect shot." This has nearly gotten him killed more than a few times, saved only by the field gear he has to wear, his martial arts training, and at times the Sentries. If he thinks he can get a good scoop he'll take it, unless his insight warns him off. And even then, he's ignored it at times, such as when he followed someone into a supposedly abandoned warehouse, only to discover it was a field laboratory for Doctor Recluse. Only luck, his protective gear, and his self-defense training saw him escape safely.
