2 Large semi-ripe Pears
(You want them to be ripe but still a bit firm, I used bosc)
Bleu or Pepper Jack Cheese
Pecans
Sake or light wine of your choice
How to prepare:
Set oven to 350 degrees.
Slice the two pears in half, and clean out the center of seeds leaving a little crevice. (If the pears won't sit flat in the pan, slice a bit off the bottom to make it flat also if you don't like the skin feel free to peel the pears completely as well) Place the pears in a baking pan and drizzle a little sake or any light wine around the pears and a little over them. Now place the the cheese of your choice into the crevice you created. Feel free to completely cover the pear in it. Last off, sprinkle some chopped pecans on top.
Bake till cheese is melted and pears are soft. Then enjoy!
In photo top two were made with bleu cheese and the two bottom were pepper jack.
I'm pretty sure just about any cheese would be good for this recipe, or even replace the pears with granny smith apples and use the pepper jack or sharp cheddar. :) Or even any other kind of nut!
Allergy warning – recipe contains nut and dairy products
