while designing a platypus character for a commission, I subsequently designed a platypus guy of my own using one of the proto-type designs.
I really like how this guy is turning out! The dopier-looking I make him, the more it makes me smile. Just a few more tweaks, gotta fix up the feet a little so they're more comfortable to draw and pose.
Might use him for the bunny comic, I am oddly proud of this design! I love designing characters.
But what's his name...?

I always though platy-pi's were weird creatures...they don't fit into societal norms of what an animal should be...
So like, you know you have squares and circles and those are normal...but a platypus? If you're going to define it in a shape kind of thing, I guess they'd have to be a squirkle...you know "A square with rounded corners."
Therefore, you should totally name him "Squirkle".
You could always combine it with what Frisky said and call him, "Plunky Squirkle"
