The white filly lounged on her favorite toy, floating peacefully in the middle of the pond. Her hooves just dangling in the water keeping them cool from the warm summer sun.

"Who's the best squeaky squeak?" Thistle nuzzled the neck of the large toy, eliciting it's trademark happy squeaks. "Thats right you are!" She hugged it a little more.

"Open your mouth, and close your eyes, and I'll give you a big surprise!" came a voice from behind.

"What?" Thistle looked around, slightly confused. She was too far away from the rope tree to get cannonballed, and nopony was near her on the water.

Suddenly Squeeks lurched upwards with a loud pop! Thistle clung tightly to Squeek's neck to avoid getting thrown off!

"Surprise! Oh, glah!" A blue head appeared under Thistle and her toy, but was immediately forced back under the water by her weight. It reappeared a moment later spitting water. "My horn got stuck!"

Thistle looked in disbelief. "Blue, what have you done!" Bubbles roiled up from in front of the toy as air escaped.

"What?" Blue blinked water out of his eyes. "Oh nuts..."

Laughter echoed across the pond. A green colt rolled on the shore, legs kicking up in the air. "Blue, you are an idiot, you were supposed to flip her, not sink her!"

"Well you suggested it!"

"You took the dare!"

As the two colts argued, Thistle could feel Squeeks getting softer as she still clung to him. "Squeeks, no!"

"Aw crap, sorry!" Blue swam behind thistle and began pushing on the toy's rear to get them to the shore. It only took a few moments, but Squeeks had lost a lot of air. Thistle had sunk to where her thighs were in the water, and Blue's hooves pressed deeply into the soft plastic. the toy ground to a halt in the shallows.

"I'm sorry..." Blue's ears drooped as Thistle dragged her wilting toy onto the grass.

"Go Away!" she ordered. Blue didn't need to be told twice.




Summer at the water hole just got a little more interesting! =^^=

(FYI this takes place before Thistle's transformation. That is why her mane is white instead of blue. Just the shenanigans Thistle and her friends were up to on the pond)
