While mechanized paintball tanks are not that common they all have treads and the such. Me I thought why not go to the next level. I've talked with my mate extensively via IM about it, and what you see here is a basic diagram of the cockpit area exterior.
NOTE: The tank is being based off a Tau Hammerhead, with multi-purpose capabilities. Meaning I can take off the turret and replace it with a gun hatch and you have the Devilfish for example. And yes this is being planned to be built as a fully functional hovercraft.

Cypress Extereme Sports near me in florida has a 1000+ acre scenario paintball feild, with a large lake owned by it, and lots of open area.
Waynes World just north of me also is quite large, and has clear open paths for paintball tanks to travel down.
Those are examples of the fields I was thinking about when it came to designing such a thing.

Also, this person was nice enough to post the construction of his if you want some anatomical reference. http://www.olshove.com/HoverHome/
Nice idea. I could help yeh build it....if I lived close by...cause back in high school. Me and my crazy teacher. Mr. Staack built a fully functional hovercraft out of a lawnmower and a board of plywood and rubber inner tubes. :D It was pretty sweet. I miss the guy now though. And he retired from teaching same year I graduated.
This sites got a bunch of guildlines for the design, espesally helpful with the skirt. http://www.4wings.com/
Never gonna happen. Even IF, you ever get around to building a working one, health and safety standards set by the paintball company's insurance policy makes it extremely doubtful that they would allow people to bring their own home-made vehicles to a paintball fight. People have to wear vision-obscuring face masks while paintballing and the chance of someone getting seriously injured would be too great.
