I am not a professional art critic nor do I aspire to be one, but there are somethings that I have to say about this piece of art.
There is a lot going on in this picture and I know most focus lays on the character in the centre, but what is most relatable for me is the darkness behind our focus point.
It's creeping, it's lingering, waiting patiently and not completely faded away. We look towards the glorious, radiant light and even in said darkness are glimmers, sparks of light, maybe representing hope?
For me it's a powerful and freeing piece, signaling this yearning for the calm and peaceful light, while breaking out of our shadows, which can range from different emotions and situations, some temporary and others more permanent.
You did an excellent work there and I can certainly feel some pain which was used as a catalyst to create something soothing and hopeful.
Sorry if I was too pompous in my wording, just wanted to give you a detailed feedback which you clearly deserve.
