You can't see it here but this little one's backside is still in the egg.
Also!!! Exciting because it's an anery!!!
See I was a little sloppy with breeding this year - I'm pretty sure I did not put their mom Lady Bub (snow) with her usual mate Nark (het snow, also anery B). Or rather, I think I put them in the Love Tank but didn't see activity, so I put her with other males (in years past, I would sometimes cohab for short periods - she's been fine from this and really I've never SEEN Nark court her but I've sure seen the eggs! Lots and lots of eggs). But I'm pretty sure I didn't put her in with him unattended at all.
I certainly DID see her breed with Gil (butter het anery mot - predicted offspring 50/50 snows & amels) and the Lavender male (het amel, poss het anery). SO, if I'm remembering right this PROVES the lavender male is het anery, because Gil can only make amels and snows with Lady Bub XD
... I'm sure most people's eyes glazed over for all that. But maybe some of you found it cool ;) (except for the part where I'm so disorganized :P)
... but since I may have screwed up I guess it proves nothing :P Maybe next year I'll pair her strictly with the lavender boy for the first clutch... the whole point was that I wanted a big variety, normals/amels/aneries/snows :)

Yeah, with babies it's considered safe to evert the hemipenes - males have dual genitals for mating!
It's not considered such a great things for adults because they can get trapped sticking out easier (prolapse)
Adults are usually gendered by gently putting a probe in their vent, pointing towards their tails. In males the probe goes in significantly deeper because it's going into one of the pouches for their hemipenes.

Thanks, I appreciate it!
Email me at ophidile[at]gmail.com when you think you might be getting close to ordering - I can check temperatures with zips to see if they're OK to ship (has to be below 85F both where I am and where you are)
If you want something from one of the clutches that may not stick around long but aren't ready to receive, I can also hold babies for 25% deposit on the baby's price (transferable, but not refundable)

Best not to use all glass for a viv though it does not retain heat well and has no vents so you would need to get a mesh top for it which will let out even more heat plus having all sides on full view would stress the reptile out.
Best thing to buy is a viv with three wooden sides and a sliding glass front

A little bit pricey but better for long term than wood as it wont rot over time. They can produce other colours as well as as an added bonus the heating and lighting can be fitted outside the viv meaning no chance of burning your snake.
I have no idea if they ship to the us though

Heat rocks are a very very bad idea they fluctuate wildly and cause massive burns to reptiles. To be honest i really don't know why they are still allowed to be on sale.
The colour of the glass does not matter it's the material glass heats up quickly and the heat transfers easily as well as having a lare flat surface area this means the heat disperses into the air at a very rapid rate. If you want to use glass you would have to make sure that the three sides are basicly enclosed to trap the heat.
