Early in the last decade, I was inspired to draw a comic parody of the discount warehouse market. Places like Sam's Club, Costco and B.J.'s Warehouse were easy targets of opportunity.
And I couldn't think of a better subject to stock up on edible goodies than
Fanimal! (No doubt he'll be consuming all that stuff, in preparation for his impending annual hibernation.) But, because of his obese size, he asked Rob Cat to help him with his shopping. So, the bobcat pushed a cart with the groceries in them, while the burly bear lugs his belly around in a separate cart! This attracts the attention of a nameless raccoon, who has his own 'throwaway gag' in the corner!

It wasn't easy to add color, considering the size of the comic, when I'd grabbed it from "The Round House". (I'd misplaced the original artwork in my own condo.) Still, I'm glad that the touches of color made this strip stand out even more. Thanks for the 'feedback', Garr!
I could've made the gag funnier by have Fanimal's belly ride in a defective shopping cart - the kind with three wheels that go one way, and the fourth wheel going in another direction - but just seeing all that fat poking out between the metal bars is satisfactory enough!
Usually, these discount warehouse markets are reserved for employees in a major union of some sort. I don't have a follow-up planned for this gag, but I'm sure that Fanimal belongs to some kind of 'fat furry' union. What these obese beasts do for a living is anybody's guess!
My original goal was to draw an entire series of 'fat furry' gags - comic strip-style - but I've yet to find a more fitting venue (other than "Fur Affinity" and "The Round House") to publicly display them. If I can make enough strips, I'll consider asking the folks at Belfry Webcomics - http://belfrycomics.net/ - if I can post them three times weekly...
