Nhilars are generally not known for their military prowess. Despite their physical strength, they lack other qualities that make good warriors. They are not particularly brave, they have poor eyesight, their other senses are mediocre at best and their reflexes are simply poor.

In terms of warfare, Nhilars always preferred a highly defensive approach – any form of advantage that would nullify their physical deficiencies was always favoured.


Currently, most Nhilar militaries favour tactics resembling line infantry of old. Nhilar infantrymen are usually assembled in two line formations. First line carries heavy shields and short range weapons, such as shotguns and SMGs, while the second line carries long guns. Such formations work in defence and provide massive firepower and staying power but lack flexibility, so mercenaries usually form a more mobile element of the battle group.


Military forces of Abhair Corporation are different, however. Unorthodox like their CEO, they focus on heavy armour and mobility. The Armoured Grenadiers of the Abhair Corporation are well trained, well equipped and their loyalty is guaranteed by good payment.


Each soldier is armed with an ABH-AGH-506, a high calibre automatic rifle firing caseless .50 cal, armour piercing rounds with explosive filler, a single magazine holds 20 rounds.

It is a weapon designed to deal with heavy infantry and cover alike. A special incendiary ammunition is also available, in case the taget is equipped with an energy shield.

In addition, an underslund 40mm automatic grenade launcher is also available.

ABH-AGH-506 is a easily one of the most powerful combat rifles currently in use. Surprisingly for Nhilars, it is not available on open market, as it is reserved purely for Abhair corporate military. Sheer versatility of this weapon means that Abhair infantry rarely uses any other weapon.

An armour of Abhair Grenadiers – ABH-IRU-40 - is a state of the art piece of work. Nhilars are not particularly fast or agile, so the armour has been designed to maximise protection over everything else.

Aside from joints, it can deflect shots from nearly every common infantry weapon currently in use. Even Shata'lin lance rifle have trouble piercing the thickest of its plates covering head and body.

In addition, IRU-40 contains all the standard features typical for modern infantry power armour – linked HUD, optical and auditory filtering, complete ABC protection. The user can even fight in the vacuum of space without almost any modifications needed.

Abhair corporation produces variants of this armour meant for many different species – Humans, Arigilians, Aalvens, and even VM-16 cattle people. Nhilar variant is, however, unique – the enhanced targeting system, similar to this found on tanks compensates for user's weak eyesight and capitalises on Nhilar's natural wide field of view.


Abhair Armoured Grenadiers are organized in squads of 8 and are almost always deployed by an APC. The corporation favours combined arms tactics, with emphasis on heavy armour support. Tanks and infantry are seen as inseparable, meant to complement one another in almost all situations. Grenadiers deal with any infantry-borne threat to friendly ground vehicles that in turn, deal with enemy armour and strong points.

An Armoured Grenadier squad can be divided into 2 sections of 4 or 4 sections of 2 soldiers. Two soldiers have rifles with underslung grenade launchers, but otherwise, equipment of each squad member is identical. They rarely carry any dedicated anti tank weapons.

Aside from land combat, Armoured Grenadiers are also tasked with defence of ships and boarding actions on enemy vessels.


In combat, Abhair Armoured grenadiers are knows for their durability. They are able to stay in combat even under heavy fire in situations that would force most other soldiers into cover. They have the staying power nearly on par with that of forces of other corporations, but combine it with flexibility of proper modern infantry.
