This was one half of an assignment for my Hand Lettering & Typography for Comics class. We basically had to come up with our own traditional font and use it in a three-panel comic to test it out. This is a demo of my font "Stupid-Speak," which is in essence just my standard handwriting in a mixture of upper- and lower-case, with some backwards lettering thrown in arbitrarily. It gives the impression that the speaker is "a nice boy, but about as sharp as a sack of wet mice." People who know my work would recognize this as Iggy's lettering style from the past few years' worth of Peter & Company strips.
As usual, nothin' digital here, folks... all inked traditionally.

Thanks. :) The entire point of this assignment was to create a character-specific letter set (which is something I've already been doing for years, so I'm having a lot of fun with it).
I actually suggested to the professor that he try an assignment with future terms where he has people draw the name of a random celebrity out of a hat, and they then have to come up with a letter set that reflects that celebrity's voice.
Like say, for example... if you were to come up with a font for Sylvester Stallone, or Sean Connery, or Schwartzanegger... how would it look?
Fun stuff.
