After such a crazy year we all had this past year (2020), we can still rejoice for the miracles and hope of Easter.
Almost 2000 years ago, Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a human. During His time on earth He gave the true teachings of God's word (which was getting forgotten and corrupted). Many people chose to follow Him, but many also chose to reject Him. Ironically the priests of God were the ones who hated Jesus most of all. They finally plotted to kill Jesus, even though Jesus lived a perfect and uncorrupted life. Jesus was then sentenced to death by crucifixion. But despite being killed unjustly, Jesus chose to forgive the world and took all evil unto Himself. There all evil died with Him on the cross. But three days later, Jesus defeated evil/sin and rose from the dead. He now sits at the right hand of God, and is superior over all the world. And no trace of evil can overpower Him because He defeated them. And there is nothing anyone can say or do to ever change that.
Now Jesus waits for all people accept Him as their Savior and He will enter their lives, no matter who we are or what our background history is. And one day when we die ourselves, our soul will rise from the dead as well to be with Christ in His Eternal Kingdom.
Happy Easter everyone! And God bless you all!

There were various reasons why they hated Him:
-Jesus did miracles they could not do
-Jesus became very popular, much more than the priests
-Jesus spoke the truth about God's word, but the priests only spoke what they wanted the people to hear
-Jesus exposed their lies to the people
-Jesus favored people that were considered the outcast
-The priests thought Jesus would lead them all against the Romans (which was the world power at the time), but Jesus didn't do that because that wasn't His purpose for being there
-They thought the Messiah was going to be born into a royal family, but Jesus was born humble and remained that way His entire life on earth
To put it simple, they were very jealous of Jesus and they were angry that Jesus wasn't what they wanted Him to be. So they figured that killing Him was the best solution.

I know I'm way late to commenting on this, but reading the comments reminded me of something my pastor said in a sermon one Sunday morning: the Pharisees and leaders were too stubborn to admit that Jesus was right about them. If He was who He said He was, and He truly was, then they were who He said they were.
"Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5. God Bless you and have a nice day and Happy Easter
