these sort of things are like my favorite to drawww cuz spooooopy monsterssss
some random facts about Leviathans that i thought up while drawing:
- leviathans never stop growing
- as they grow older their growth slows more and more.
- they are like alligators/crocodiles, they are seemingly immortal and do not die from old age. They grow and age until they are too big to feed themselves and die from starvation.
☆ they can go weeks(maybe months ??) without food due to the scarce amount of large life forms in and around the abyss.
- they will hunt dragons, large whale-like creatures, and honestly anything they can clamp their jaws onto.
☆ they are usually found in and around the abyss but will sometimes surface if forced to.
☆ they can not survive for too long in low pressures, their scales and bodies are built to withstand extreme pressures.
☆ they always have black or dark grey scales, however, albinism is possible but extremely rare (they dont blend in very well and the babies with albinism are usually very big targets for other predators,, including older members of their own species)
- most Leviathans (including Abyssal Leviathans) have gills, rather than standard lungs or nose-holes
- because of how big Leviathans are, the different species are very scarce across the planet.
- Leviathans only have like 1 or 2 eggs every century
- baby Leviathans are fiercely protected and cared for by the mothers and grow rapidly in their first few years of life before the growth starts to slow.
- baby leviathans are about around the size of a dolphin (once hatched/birthed) up to a humpback whale (juvenile) to a blue whale (adolescence) to about 1 and a half the size of a blue whale (adult),, keeps growing,, etc (idk size chart may differ later when i figure that out xD )
- leviathans are a classification of large monster-dragons that are aquatic or cave dwellers. few individuals (like around 100 or so) of each species exist due to their massive size.
- they are incredibly territorial creatures and will get into turf wars with other leviathans (not usually with their own species but that happens sometimes too)

Haha, no worries. I've done that in the past. Love the lore too! "Beware the creature of the deep" type thing, just as I expected in a way. Interesting how scarcely they feed and hatch, added potential dread of never truly being able to predict one's appearance. One part of the waters could be safe to explore for the better part of a year, but then one dragon disappearance sets everyone in a panic again. Really cool concept.
Hnggggg the gloooow is so pretttyyyyyy! Though I imagine probably less pretty if it's in the deep abyss and this fellow is coming straight at you looking for a meal :'D

I mean, at least it would look super pretty before your demise because she's gorgeous, but yea, other than that, not ideal haha
Oh okay, that's kinda neat! Would they do infighting/bickering too then ? Or would one of them be the most "in control" so to speak?
