Totally your call of what to do, but as a fan and someoen that's done fanfics, I do like spitballing ideas.
Maybe he was one in the past, but decided to do his own thing because of a dislike/hatred of Motormaster? That's always been sorta the Stunticon dynamic, MM is the big bully and no one likes him but they typically don't have a choice becuase MM is bigger and stronger then they are. With Prime, Breakdown is a big beefy guy. Maybe he got swole so he could get away. Then you got a way to include him and yet not be a main part of the team?

I'd like my arts to have less fear and hatred in the team. Stunticons in G1 got along well together and even with Motormaster! (Geez, I can't understand why in some comics and rid2015 they were made angrier towards the boss)...

G1 toon, that's true; but not for G1 as a whole, Menasor's G1 Bio:
A clanking, crushing terror that destroys all in his path -- the ulimate Decepticon weapon if he wasn't so confused by the opposing thoughts of the 5 Stunticons who comprise him. (Motormaster is loathed by the other four.) Tremendous strength, his punch has the force of 140 tons. Impervious to most artillery. Uses Motormaster's cyclone gun and carries an ionizer sword with a 50,000 volt charge.
And I wanna be clear here: I love the G1 toon, it is the base for much of my nostalgia (Didn't discover the Marvel comics till High School), and I'm not sayign you should go against what you want; but I will admit that the G1 toon didn't use the characters to their fullest potential; one of the most overlooked that could have been interesting (and did get a chance to shine in IDW comics) is Thundercracker, his orginal bio:
Contemptuous of anything that cannot fly. Not totally convinced of the Decepticons' cause, but they persuaded him to continue battling Autobots. Flies at speeds up to 1500 mph... produces controlled, deafening sonic booms that can be heard for 200 miles. Equipped with powerful drone rockets and incendiary gun. Doubts about cause sometimes impede effectiveness.
There is some good story potential in a bad guy that's not all in on the cause.
