A few days ago I lost my precious kitty, Opal. She was a sweet cat that stole my heart the day we met, and I will miss her dearly.
The first time I ever met her, she dashed right out the door of the 'get to know you' room. I thought that was so funny, and when they brought her back I knew she was the one. Shrag has said he thought that her time was almost up then, that the staff was so happy I took her that had I not done so, she would have been put down. I don't know if that's true but I like to think it is because he always said he thought she knew that I saved her life.
Opal as a kitten was so unpredictable. As a young cat she would slip into places I thought were impossible, and she did it without missing a beat. She had this odd habit of dashing into the kitchen and falling over like a fainting goat. It was loud enough to hear and hard enough you'd feel the vibration in the floor. We took to calling her plop kitty for a while after that. I had never seen an animal run into a room and just decide 'I'm done using my legs now' and just fall over.
As she got older, she started putting her paws on my thigh when she wanted me to pick her up, and I always obliged because I wanted her to continue this behavior.
And of course, there were the two times she stuck her head in the hand hold of a twelve pack.

I'll miss you, kitty. Wait for me.

Just think of what sort of life she had, with you. How she was /blessed/ with you, and she showed it time and again.
When I think of my dog, whom I had to let go in Nov of 19, it still hurts. But then I also think of his life too.
I think too if you could make her an anthro, and post it here she'll be more remembered by the fandom too. Draw her proud.

I watched the video of her with the twelve pack on her head, and her sudden meow at the end just made me laugh. It was like she was saying "You didn't see that!" :P She was definitely special and it was a tragedy that she had to leave so soon. I'm sure I would have enjoyed meeting her. Still, I don't doubt that you will carry many fond memories of her for years to come. *hugs*
Very sorry for your loss, though I am 7 months behind the times delivering this condolence. Loved the video! I have a striped cat with similar markings, but she is all grey (no white feet). We are very close; I can appreciate your love for your dear animal. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, it's still appreciated. Especially coming from you. I miss my baby terribly, but Miso is proving to be a suitable successor. Still, I do miss Opal very much, she was always surprising me with the things she did.
She sometimes would put her paws up on my legs when she wanted me to pick her up, it was super sweet. She only did it a few times, and sadly I never got a chance to get it on video, along with a few of her other unique accomplishments.
