It gets very tiresome after a while, the constant "ew kill it" comments, especially when directed at my PET insects. I'd never say that about a person's pet and in general I'd never leave an instinctual and yes, rude comment before thinking, but that's just me. Just because you're afraid of something doesn't mean it deserves to be killed.
I'm just saying... Spiders in the house need to be got rid of. Either take it outside or kill it. What if it gets in your bed with you and bites you? Especially the poisonous ones. Brown recluses and black widows couldn't care less if they get in a child's shoe and bite them and rot a hole in their skin (what happend to a 3 year oli know). They aren't always "benificial". They get in places they don't belong.
Saw that coming. Still doesn't justify your comment because you likely have no idea of this spider's species. You should always capture an insect if it's in your house before killing it and look it up to make sure it actually IS harmful and not endangered, because you may very well be killing something harmless or beneficial or even committing a crime by just slaying every spider or insect you see mindlessly. Another thing I get sick of is people thinking that small = redundant or ugly = evil. We might as well all just kill ourselves with that logic, because people do nothing but harm and we're hideous, nasty creatures IMO. Anyways, rant over, agree to disagree I suppose.
A few, it itched a while but I lived. :P I've never encountered a brown recluse or black widow since childhood, actually held a mature black widow I found in the gutter when I was little without getting bitten. They're not as aggressive as their reputation. I keep 3 highly venomous orange tarantulas of which I've never handled and don't plan to, and a curly hair tarantula who is a sweetie.
I've been bitten once by a wolf spider(the kind above). It was in my sandal. Haven't been bitten since. I check my shoes before putting them on, sit with my feet off the floor, keep my bed away from the wall/covers off the floor, ect ect.
I've held a tarantuala at a pet store once because of a dare. It crawled all over me. It tickled. I actually thought it was cute, but I was still nervous.

cute enough I just drew a spider girl XDDDDD
is not as sexy as this one :3 but an example I took was the fear of spiders others have as to why this girl I drew is so shy today and didn't know she had such skills to fight back
quite similar, most spiders will run before trying to fight back.... I want one now ;.;

Any time I see spiders in my apartment I'm all "Sup? Keep on truckin" Or when they're in the bathroom "What are you doing here spider you don't belong here spiders don't even take showers!" (I realize they hang out there looking for water but shooing them out so they don't end up drowned can be tricky)
It's so pretty! I thought it was a brown recluse at first, which kind of scared me when you said you picked it up. I looked up the species and I think brown recluse may be part of its family, but I'm sure you know what you're doing. :3
My older brother has been bitten by a brown recluse three times and it wasn't pretty.
