So this is what I did today?? I woke up late and felt pretty groggy. I've had some pretty annoying abdominal pain and it impacted my sleep. It's an Idea I had for a while. To draw some of the most iconic Toronto animals as anthro interpretations. I've been enjoying sketching a lot lately so I've been doing a lot of personal sketches just for funsies.
There are a couple things I've learned living in this city:
1. Everyone owns a pair of Blundstone boots
2. Squirrels can be black
3. That's about it
I chose the few MOST iconic animals I could think of. Pigeons are everywhere. Raccoons are the national animal of the city and I've never seen a black squirrel anywhere else. If I could have a more expansive cast I'd include coyotes, Canada geese and definitely a cockroach. Now Im mad I didn't do a cockroach there are so many in Toronto.
The only character here that is a likeness of a real person is Duckman on the right. Duckman is a well known busker who usually drums on plastic buckets in Yonge-Dundas square in downtown Toronto. I haven't seen him in a while and I'm not sure what he's doing this days or if he is even still in the city, but I hope all is well for him.

That makes sense. The last time I saw him would have been early 2019. There are enough videos of him online to get the experience digitally at least https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bGJ1lKzVso
There are some black squirrels in the US , but for some reason it seems to be more common in Canada, specifically the Ontario province. They are actually just a genetic variant of grey and fox squirrels. In my opinion they look cooler than the regular grey squirrels, but other than their coloration they are pretty much identical.
