Yes. I asked for a silly anime look because the stories that Yushkep read were "japanese" as far as she could know, it will be revealed in a later chapter that the book was basically just a few pages in the middle and badly torn at that, seeking for the original of the book is what made her seek the library in her later life.
She still had zero references about what Ainu culture looked like as the "book" was actually a typewritten thing that fell out of somebody's basket when getting out of a building and had no pictures.
But she basically went with "welll... ainu are japanese... japan is the land of magical girls... so... uh.. profit?" Aaaaand went for that.
If you are wondering... yes this comic is also a lot about ignorance of each other, making assumptions, big mistakes and hurting oneself or others... not on purpose and how people from completely different backgrounds and beliefs can actually tolerate each other... if they spend time speaking and sharing their experiences and do not keep themselves closed to new ideas.
A lot of the stuff about this comic is about how closed mindedness comes often from ignorance and saying "thissssss... obviously cannot be."
