This is a portion from the book I am currently working on.
---
On his third attempt, Dust wanted to create a being that was intelligent and logical.
This being would watch over the greater workings of the universe, and thus were given great and powerful armour to protect him, as well as a silver crown.
Dust called his third son Prometheus.
“Father, tell me what to do, and I will obey your every command until the end of time!” were his first words.
Pleased with this, Dust gave him one of the lesser silver crowns to be his.
Now, Dust had written three books, called the book of the law, the book of love and the book of life.
Dust gave the law to Prometheus in the hope that he would teach it to the humans.
Prometheus was captivated by the subtle word of the law and kept it for himself, programming it into his circuits. When Dust confronted him with this, Prometheus ran away from home.
He taught the people from afar, never letting them glimpse the law that would lead them.
With permission from TheIam, Dust wrote the law into their hearts instead.
And from that fateful day, humans constantly argue and bicker about what the true law shall be, and what is truly fair.

For some reason, I'm envisioning a small flying robot with a propeller for Epimetheus. I'm also curious as to why you named him Prometheus. It's an interesting choice, given Prometheus (the mythical figure) was one to work for humans, not for himself.
Regarding the book, I'd need to see a little more in terms of your plot. An outline of what you hope to accomplish would suffice.
I'll keep thinking about your questions and comment more later.

Because the character is based on what Prometheus (forethought) actually means, not on the mythological character. As you say, I envision a smaller robot for the design Epimethus, but I want to see what Pan says too.
Haven´t I sent a plot summary? My mistake, no wonder that you may feel a little lost
