I would love to tell Harmony "Get better soon" ...but I don't think diabetes is the kind of thing she can get better from. I guess "Feel better soon" is all I can really say.


I love my dog to pieces, so seeing now that she's got some kind of life-threatening illness, I'm really, really saddened. I used to figure that with all the chocolate Harmony's eaten, nothing could kill her except the things she can't digest (which happened once and we got that plastic whatever-it-was removed years ago). None of the chocolate she's eaten has barely affected her, and considering her track record for stealing whole boxes of chocolate, I'd say that Harmony deserves a prize.


Anyway, later today (since I guess now it's technically what I would've called "tomorrow") Harmony's to be taken to the animal hospital to get her blood sugar of 1000 (or more, even!) dropped to a much, much more normal level. She might be there for one day or maybe longer, or even have to be taken back after a day of rest to complete the procedure. Afterward, we're going to have to give her two insulin shots every day.


I love you, Harmony. Get to wagging that tail again as soon as possible.
