haha I still can't help but subconsciously ? guilt trip myself by putting myself in the roach's position. It always makes me cringe, thinking how it must feel to have your exoskeleton penetrated by fangs which suck out your delicious white guts! ;; I think that's why the only thing that grosses me out about bugs is seeing them get crushed. x[
Spiders are such a fascinating creatures. I once spent months watching one work on a web day and night (we shared the same room and I had little else to entertain myself with)
I notice this one has two things like fingers coming out of the rear end, which are used to lay the web. I had never seen that particular feature before. Is it exclusive of the tarantula? The spiders I saw used the back legs for this purpose. Maybe they also had these little finger things but I didn't see them because of the smaller size of the spiders I saw.
