I've surprisingly drawn very little fanart for Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and its sequel Ginga Densetsu Weed seeing how they were two of the contributing factors in my anime obsession phase back in high school, so I figured it was time to change that by creating my very first Ginga OC!
Name: Asahi (朝陽)
Name Meaning: Morning sun
Age: 2 years (GNG), 16 years (GDW)
Gender: Male
Breed: Labrador Retriever/Kai Ken mix
Parents: Akatora and Blondie
Siblings: Three brothers and two sisters (half-siblings)
Mate: TBA
Children: TBA
Status: Alive
Bio:
Asahi was born in a litter of six to a female Labrador named Blondie. Being the only mutt in a litter of purebred puppies, it was pretty obvious that his mother must have mated with some stray before her owner had her breed with a selected stud. Since he obviously couldn't be sold, Asahi stayed with his mother while his littermates were sold to new owners.
Growing up, Asahi often asked his mother about who his father was. She would tell him that he was a handsome striped dog that she met one night when she wandered away from home. She never saw him again after their encounter and didn't even get his name. Determined to know who his dad was, Asahi leaves home upon reaching adulthood to hopefully find out more about him. Asahi meets several different dogs during his travels across Japan and he eventually discovers who his father was. His father was Akatora, a very brave Kai Ken who died heroically in a battle against a monstrous man-eating bear. Asahi is sad that he never had a chance to meet him, but hearing about what a brave dog his father was makes him glad that he finally knew who he was. After visiting his father's grave, Asahi returns home and ends up settling down with a female dog he met during his journey.
Personality:
Like his father, Asahi is pretty quick-tempered but also very brave, never backing down from a fight. He's also very loyal and cares deeply about others, a trait he shares with his mother. Asahi is also very determined and strong-willed, always staying focused on whatever task is presented to him.
