This was a sketch
Fraisala did for me as part of her 101 sketch run.
She has also uploaded this piece, so please fav/comment it here.
If you'd also like a sketch for as low as $5, Fraisala's still doing her 101 sketch run.
I asked for the curved oryx-like horns, the prehensile tail, wings coming off somewhere near the scapula, and a body type suited to climbing and flying. I believe I suggested a few poses, one of which was climbing on an outcropping and using the tail to help balance by holding onto something.
She definitely put a very lizard-like spin on it. The legs come out the side and the body stays lower than in more upright creatures like some dinosaurs and many mammals where the legs go more downward. The legs can sweep back and forth like a monitor lizard, good for climbing and grasping. I still haven't settled on which leg-type is right, but I now have visualizations both ways to think about.
