Okay, this is a really old joke... but heck, when you need a break from writing, something silly works the best, even if it's old

This is just a filler; I am at this very moment working on a short and cute little bonus story featuring our popular couple Mara and Celeste! I'm hoping to have it finished and uploaded before midnight tonight!

Might be so, but I learned it's important not to let your punchline drag on for too long... especially not when you're telling jokes in senior citizens homes!

Exactly! Sort of like having a good comedy routine, as long as you have a new audience, you can use the same material many times. :)

Right! And if you are successful long enough, you can even recycle some of your material to do it for the same audiencesmorethan one times! (I have seen one or two quite successful comedians do that. In a new show, I suddenly recognized jokes that I thought; hey, back in the eighties, he did that one too! )

Yup, especially if you can dream up a new way to present it, or it becomes so classic that people expect it in your routine. As evidence of that, say Bill Cosby and his "Fat Albert" material. :)

So very true! Plus, its always better to continually find new and fresh ways to present it, because that keeps it amusing for yourself as well. Otherwise it will get boring if you have to do the same thing over and over again because the people expect it
