Hmm...he's so thin now, but maybe the tiny, barely noticeable movements he makes causes him to spread out a fraction of an inch every year. At that rate, he'll probably be able to pull himself out of his confinement within the every 60 or 70 years...

I usually see implied long term stuff but I LOVE seeing the timeframe explicitly stated like this 💦

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of permanence, but I do like a bit of long-term with the implied likelihood of eventual escape. And yeah, I'd be bored too if I spent the past few decades memorizing the faces of every single regular guest and employee, and counting all the tiles on the floor 100 times over. XD

And also veeeerry slooowly spreading and inching my way to the edges of the glass container.

That's valid! An eventual escape opens the opportunity for them to end up in another similarly long-term, tile-counting scenario if they somehow didn't learn their lesson after this one x3

Or, they manage to finally escape, only to realize that their body has been pressed thin for so long that it would take a good while to return to normal!
So they're just flopping around like a living sheet until some random passerby balls them up and stuffs them into a bag to take home XD
