This one is possibly my personal favorite out of all my artwork to date. I wanted to create a piece which merged wildlife illustration and sci-genres.
I set the piece in a post-apocalyptic future with a ruined dome-city in the background. The fox who has made this crashed spaceship his home is resting peacefully, living his life without a care in the world about the now-extinct human race.
The fox was sketched by hand, and then colored entirely in Photoshop. The background is a mix of Photoshop, 3D rendering, and digital photography.

I consider this one of the all-time best furry pics ever done! Amazingly well-done fur and decaying machinery, and so rich with meaning. I get the obvious ecological theme, but to me, it also represents finding shelter in harsh, stormy times... or comfort in the unlikeliest of places. That image of that sleeping fox has been entered into my memory forever.
