Aphantasia can be weird at times. I can't create mental images or feelings when awake, but I can while asleep and dreaming. Rarely when I wake up slowly, there's a few seconds of overlap before it all fades to black.
Also, I'd been intending for a while now, to show original Ryu via flashback or something. Since we never saw him at the beginning.

I must say again, how much I love about your works, how you aren't scared to portrait the "unpleasant" parts of changing your body and "reality" entirely.
These dreams, the inability to actively picture what it felt like, the blurryness between the old and the new reality, it really, really makes me look forward to seeing the conclusion, because... will the old normal ever be normal again after experiencing all of this? What will happen when Ryu turns back?
Every time I see any picture of this series, be it here, on FA, or your twitter, I am vibrating on the edge of my seat because I wanna know what happens next!
