Luminous Red - pg 1

First and foremost, shoutout to my friend and amazing traditional artist Aria Fawn for checking my webcomic's dialogs for errors (because English isn't my first language). You guys can check out her gallery for a spiritual art journey~
So two years after announcing my webcomic reboot, here's the first page. Featuring my OCs Vorac (vulture) and Marvin (young lion) so far.
Also, the name of this webcomic reboot changed from the old "Luminahi" to "Luminous Red". Mainly because "Luminahi" often got mistaken for "Illuminati" by readers, when I merely wanted to have a name based on the word "luminous".

Took me a lot of experimenting! Let's see if I can remember it all...
First do thin, straight lines from up to down, but not too vertical (not a perfect angle) for natural look. Then you erase parts so it looks like seperate drops. You may want to copy-paste what you did for more intense rain and place it around till it looks good. Make it slightly transparent. Then copy the rain layer and add a motion filter on it, and make the layer more transparent too. Then add more hand-drawn thin lines for splashes on the ground (and characters) where the rain hits.
Then I also added some clouds (they are also transparent) for the landscape/cityscape, which is a brush made by Yuumei:

(see description for link to get those free brushes)
Hope that helps! ^^

MAN! Reading this scene INSTANTLY sent me back to the first page of the old version, so when I looked and compared the two I was pleasantly pleased at how well I remembered it! But of course, this page is immensely more improved!
I look forward to pages when and if you can get them out! It's got a great first start :)

Aw, thank you so much for your feedback! That means a lot.
I'm also happy to see how much better this page looks compared to the other. c: Also, this scene here stayed almost the same as in the old comic, but future scenes will be something new. There are new scenes startig from page 3 on already. I think I changed and improved at least half of the story, haha.

I tried out italic font, the long connected tails, different color... but then saw this idea with square bubbles in another comic and thought it looked the best. c:
Also having long connected tails everywhere looked kinda messy in my opinion, like having a big noodle salad all over the page, haha. And it was somehow more confusing to figure out which bubble is read before the other.
