This is really quite fascinating... Seeing the road just barely fade into view beneath the creature gives me the strange feeling that I'm viewing this entity from the other side, and that in our world we would likely view it in reverse, with the road in clear focus and the creature barely visible. But I'm an unusual one.
There's something about this that really intrigues me. I see the hand part of the creature as being the entity, with the wolf being a distraction, or bate, like the scent of a fly trap. "Come, stare into the eyes of the wolf. Closer still, untill your feet brush my fingertips and you are mine"
