Today I trimmed the sides flush with each other and made the neck and tail blocks as well as the kerfing and glued them in. More detailed pics to come in the fabled flickr gallery that I'll probably get up this weekend.
I'm not super happy with how un-uniform the kerfing came out so I will probably be buying some pre-made next time.
BTW, like my high tech clamping system? Clothes pins work fine for the spots that aren't giving much resistance. For the trouble spots these little spring clamps work quite nicely.
